RippleX Overhauls XRPL Testnet, To Enhance Stability

RippleX, the developer arm of Ripple, informed XRPL developers of a critical Testnet reboot on August 19, 2024, commencing at 3:00 AM EST. The key objective of the reset is to enhance the Testnet’s stability and reduce the operational costs of running a Testnet node. 

The reset process is expected to take approximately 15 minutes, during which the testnet may be temporarily unavailable. These periodic resets are crucial for maintaining an optimal testing environment and minimizing significant disruptions for developers. The team will provide further updates once the reset is complete.

The blockchain firm also outlined long-term plans to bolster the resilience and performance of the testnet. First, the team intends to restrict access to the testnet to mitigate network stress and ensure a smoother testing experience. RippleX is exploring ways to implement additional safeguards to protect the testnet against potential threats and strengthen its overall security posture.
