The meme coin sector is heating up, with a market capitalization of $52.262 billion, a 1.3% increase over the past 24 hours.

A staggering $12.5 billion changed hands during that same period. Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) remain the top dogs in this exciting market.

Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Pepe: The Top Meme Coin Contenders

As per CoinMarketCap data, in the past seven days, DOGE rose 0.8% to $0.1074, while SHIB jumped 1.9% to $0.00001676. Pepe (PEPE) made an even bigger splash, with a 6.3% gain to $0.059336.

These three lead the pack in market cap, with Dogecoin valued at $15.7 billion, Shiba Inu at $9.8 billion, and PEPE at $3.9 billion.

Since October 2023, DOGE, SHIB, and PEPE have seen gains of 82.7%, 144.5%, and a whopping 1358%, respectively. Pepe’s incredible performance has launched it to 25th place on CoinMarketCap, though it’s still down 45.74% from its all-time high of $0.00001718.
