On August 9 a cross-chain bridge linking the XRP Ledger and Coreum (rebranded as tx) lost nearly 200,000 XRP after an attacker exploited the deposit-checking logic by treating a wallet-to-wallet transfer as a fake deposit. The bridge has been halted and operator and independent researchers traced the failure to Coreum-side software, highlighting a bridge security vulnerability and operational risk for cross-chain DeFi and token transfers.
