EUROe is a euro-pegged stablecoin issued as an electronic money token (EMT) by Membrane Finance Oy, a Finnish licensed electronic money institution. It is fully backed by euro-denominated reserves. At least 102% collateralization in some descriptions. The asset redeemable 1:1 for euros by eligible holders through <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://redeem.membrane.fi">redeem.membrane.fi</a>, and supervised under EU regulations including alignment with MiCA for compliance and transparency. The stablecoin enables fast, low-cost global payments, on- and off-chain transfers, and integration into crypto ecosystems, DeFi, tokenized assets, exchanges, brokers, wallets, FinTechs, DAOs, enterprises, and NGOs. It supports near-instant settlements, fiat on/off-ramps (via products like Ramp for self-custodial wallets), and developer-friendly APIs for building payment flows.Deployed on multiple blockchains (e.g., Ethereum, Arbitrum, and others via ERC-20 standard), it targets businesses and users seeking a regulated European alternative to USD-dominated stablecoins for cross-border transactions, treasury management, and programmable money use cases. Membrane Finance (the issuer) was based in Finland for its tech and regulatory environment, but recent developments indicate Paxos acquired Membrane Finance in 2025, leading to a shift toward USDG focus in Europe and the winding down of EUROe operations. EUROe is a registered EU trademark (trademark No. 018784320) owned by Membrane Finance Oy, a Finnish limited liability company (trade register No. 3236886-2) approved by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority as an Electronic Money Institution in the EU.
