Verifying the Connection with a Simple Request

First, check the connection status with a simple requiest. Avoid asking for something complicated to reduce the risk of burning an excessive amount of tokens in case the connection to the MCP is not established yet.

Building a Research Report

Once your MCP access has been set up, you can start using it. When asking your AI agent a question, make sure you ask it in a clear and precise way. Remember the key rule of using AI agents: the quality of the answers will depend on the quality of the prompts. Include the following information in your prompts:

• The correct name of the data endpoint you are analysing.

• Specify the timeframe.

• Suggest the data output format (e.g. text reply, table or chart).

• Special filters that could affect the quality of the output and any other important topics.

2.2. Most Popular Funding Stages in H1 2026

Promt:

Using CryptoRank MCP, retrieve all funding rounds dated within H1 2026 (Jan 1 – Jun 30). Group by funding stage (Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, etc.) and for each stage show: deal count, % of share. Rank stages by count of deals (highest to lowest).

Result:

In H1 2026, the crypto market recorded 563 funding deals. Strategic rounds were the largest category, with 117 deals and a 20.7% share.

Seed rounds followed with 99 deals, or 17.5%, showing that early-stage funding remains active. M&A also stood out with 88 deals and a 15.6% share, pointing to growing consolidation across the industry.

Series A and Pre-Seed accounted for 8.5% and 7.8%, while Series B represented only 2.6%. Overall, the data suggests that investors are becoming more selective, focusing on strategic deals, early-stage opportunities, and acquisitions rather than broad late-stage funding.

This type of prompt goes beyond simply asking for data. It defines the desired output structure, allowing the agent to understand that it must not only retrieve information but also produce a complete analytical report.
