The Icon Republic forms the governing structure. The network’s overall decision-making process takes place here and comprises nodes from the Icon communities. Each Icon community can dictate its own set of rules, including consensus algorithms. Each Icon community can elect a node, a Community Representative, to interact with and participate in the governance process of the Icon Republic. They receive rewards in the form of ICX for their work.&nbsp;</p><p>Community Nodes in turn as responsible for maintaining a community-specific blockchain. This includes the governance of the given blockchain. We are assessing Bitcoin's volatility and maximum drawdowns, comparing these metrics with the average values from the past 30 and 90 days. We suggest that an abnormal increase in volatility signals a market driven by fear.
