Flip Labs has raised a $1.4M pre-seed round and joined the a16z Speedrun program, according to a LinkedIn post from co-founder Oleg Viatkin. The round was led by The House Fund, with participation from Cory Levy and Pear VC.

The company is building Flip, an AI-native personal finance assistant that lives in users' messaging apps rather than a traditional banking interface. Flip is designed to map out bill payment deadlines, pay bills using a user’s card, monitor website activity to suggest canceling subscriptions, and optimize everyday spending.

Viatkin highlighted his own lack of money discipline as the motivation for Flip, noting recurring late fees, idle savings, and a volatile net worth driven by crypto. In the post, he says Flip now farms GrubHub guarantees using inbox receipts for discounts, claims price drops on flights, and sets up direct deposits to a high-yield savings account before funds can be spent. The product aims to earn a permanent spot at the top of users’ iMessage threads by continuously surfacing and executing savings opportunities.

Flip is currently in beta as the team focuses on refining the product’s behavior and user experience. Early access is being rolled out to a waitlist, with users invited to text Flip and see how much value it can uncover from their existing financial patterns. The startup is being built by co-founders Oleg Viatkin, Sanjay Amirthraj, and Alex J., and is positioning itself as an automation layer on top of existing consumer finance rails.

The combination of a16z Speedrun backing and an investor group led by The House Fund gives Flip Labs early validation within the Silicon Valley fintech and AI founder ecosystem. As on-chain wealth and volatile income streams become more common, tools that can automatically manage cash flow, subscription sprawl, and travel spend may appeal to both crypto-native users and broader consumer segments.
