Circle, a stablecoin leader, is improving developer assistance and expanding its protocols and platform. This development focuses on adding $USDC and $EURC to several Sepolia test networks. This deliberate step improves Circle’s stablecoin protocol developers’ user experience.

Faucet Update Signals Farewell to Goerli for USDC and EURC

In this extension, $USDC will have exclusive Sepolia testnet addresses for Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, and OP. Additionally, $EURC will introduce Ethereum-specific Sepolia testnet addresses. The Circle Coin Transfer Proxy (CCTP) uses new Sepolia testnet addresses for Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, and OP. After the conversion, the attestation API will no longer accept Goerli, indicating a preference for Sepolia.

The Faucet stopped helping $USDC and $EURC on Goerli test networks, a major change. Developers can now select and get stablecoins on Sepolia test networks. Any Goerli-generated Circle Mint deposit addresses will be reset. Thus, sending $USDC or $EURC to these reset addresses will permanently lose your cash in Circle Mint testing. However, prior and ongoing transactions will remain unchanged.

This innovation greatly impacts Programmable Wallets and Smart Contract Platforms. Support for Ethereum Sepolia will begin on January 10. Support for Ethereum Goerli ends in January 2024. Deprecation will remove Ethereum Goerli data from APIs, shifting focus to the more advanced Sepolia network.

Circle Elevates Stablecoin Protocols with Sepolia Integration

Importantly, the Circle Mint Sandbox APIs will be unavailable for 1-2 hours during the migration to Sepolia for the $USDC and $EURC testnet deployments. A little disruption is necessary to ensure a smooth transition and assimilation of the new testnet addresses.

Developers and others interested in $USDC and $EURC should join Circle’s Discord community. The collaborative environment fosters discussions, clarifications, and a deep understanding of stablecoin improvements and their impact on developers.

Circle’s decision to support $USDC and $EURC on Sepolia test networks advances stablecoin development. This enhances platform stability and security and follows the industry trend away from obsolete networks like Goerli. This achievement gives developers better tools and infrastructure to work with stablecoin protocols on advanced Sepolia test networks, which benefits them considerably. Circle is improving Sepolia test network support for $USDC and $EURC to simplify developer services. This strategic integration shows its commitment to improving stablecoin protocol development user experiences. It consolidates its position as a creative blockchain platform.
