On July 28 PayPal reported $486.4 billion in total payment volume for Q2, up 10% year over year. It reorganized to create a standalone Payment Services & Crypto division and listed stablecoins as a key growth area alongside agentic commerce and identity and biometrics, signaling a stronger corporate focus on crypto, payments and DeFi-related adoption opportunities that could support future token, wallet and payments integration.

The unit, Payment Services & Crypto, sits alongside Checkout Solutions & PayPal and Consumer Financial Services & Venmo. In the same presentation, PayPal listed stablecoins as one of three areas it is expanding into under an “innovating with discipline” heading, next to agentic commerce and identity and biometrics.
