Two Delta Air Lines Inc. regional jets collided at low speed while taxiing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night, according to a report from an ABC affiliate. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Video footage posted on the social media platform X, which appeared to be taken from a neighboring aircraft, showed emergency vehicle lights on the tarmac and visible damage to one of the jet’s wings.
Incident Details

ABC News spoke to a passenger on one of the planes who stated that their flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, had experienced a hard landing.

The passenger said the aircraft then took a quick turn off the runway, at which point the pilot slammed on the brakes and the collision occurred.

Representatives for Delta did not respond to a request for comment outside of normal US working hours.

The event is the latest in a string of recent safety-related incidents at LaGuardia that have drawn scrutiny.

In March, the Federal Aviation Administration launched an investigation after a Delta jet’s wing struck the runway during a landing attempt.

Federal investigators are also probing a runway close call from May, in which a Republic Airways jet was forced to abort its takeoff to avoid colliding with another aircraft.

The collision at LaGuardia also adds to a number of other notable aviation accidents in the US this year.

On January 29, a collision at Ronald Reagan airport in Washington D.C. killed 67 people. In February, a small jet carrying 10 people crashed in Alaska, and two private jets collided at Scottsdale Airport, resulting in one fatality and four injuries.
