Intel Ignite Launches Its Sixth Cohort in Europe

Intel Ignite, Intel’s deep tech accelerator for early-stage startups, is kicking off its sixth cohort in Europe on November 6th. This 12-week program in Munich offers selected startups a unique opportunity to receive customized support for their growth journey, including mentorship, access to industry players and investors, and access to Intel’s extensive resources.

Empowering entrepreneurs to scale their technologies

The primary goal of Intel Ignite is to accelerate the scaling of groundbreaking technologies, helping entrepreneurs find their product-market fit and secure funding at higher valuations. An important distinction is that Intel Ignite does not take equity stakes in the startups, and participating companies are not required to pay any participation fees.

A diverse portfolio of deep tech innovations

The selected 10 startups, chosen from a competitive pool of nearly 300 applicants, represent a diverse range of deep tech fields. These fields span from artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to fusion power, chip-scale photonics, and quantum computing.

A multinational cohort

Hailing from seven European countries – Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, and France – the startups in this cohort have an average of €3.9 million in seed funding, highlighting the strong support they’ve already garnered.

Meet the ten innovative startups:

1. Deep Detection: This startup specializes in multispectral X-ray cameras designed for industrial inspection and material separation.

2. Dotphoton: Dotphoton focuses on raw image compression and data quality validation for AI and machine learning applications.

3. Electric SQL: This platform enables the development of reactive, real-time, local-first apps, offering a unique solution for developers.

4. FononTech: FononTech pioneers impulse printing for electronics through fine-grained patterns in the micro to millimeter range.

5. Giskard: Giskard provides a testing and monitoring interface for machine learning models, helping enhance their accuracy and reliability.

6. Proxima Fusion: Proxima Fusion aims to usher in the first generation of fusion power plants using QI stellarators, a groundbreaking approach to sustainable energy generation.

7. Quantum Diamonds:Leveraging diamond-based quantum sensors, Quantum Diamonds is focused on semiconductor failure analysis and quality control.

8. Semron:Semron specializes in AI chips that reduce energy consumption without compromising raw compute power, making computing more sustainable.

9. SuperDuperDB:This startup offers AI and API deployment and training on top of data stores, streamlining the development process for data science and AI applications.

10. Zerve: Zerve provides a coding platform tailored for data science and AI development, simplifying the coding process for these cutting-edge technologies.

Shaping the future of technology

Markus Bohl, the managing director of Intel Ignite Europe, expressed his confidence in this cohort’s potential to change the world. He stated, “We believe the startups and founders in this new cohort have the opportunity and the potential to change the world. These entrepreneurs could shape the next innovations in AI, the way the devices we use every day operate, and the future of energy.”

Intel Ignite’s impressive track record

Since its launch in 2019, Intel Ignite has nurtured 148 companies in its portfolio, collectively raising an impressive €1.6 billion in funding. With hubs in Munich, Tel Aviv, Boston, and London (launched in early September), Intel Ignite continues to play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and supporting the growth of deep tech startups.

Joining the next cohort

For deep tech startups interested in being part of Intel Ignite’s next cohort in Europe, applications will open in January 2024. This offers an exciting opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to receive invaluable support and resources as they embark on their journey to revolutionize the tech industry.
