Traders are rotating out of Bitcoin (BTC) and into altcoins on Monday as they look for the best crypto to buy now that might deliver quick gains.

Bitcoin came within a whisker of hitting $100,000 last week, but profit-taking activities have since driven the market back down to around $96,000.

However, the mood in the rest of the crypto market remains upbeat, especially in wake of last week’s news that anti-crypto SEC Chair Gary Gensler is stepping down in January, and that US President-elect Trump picked pro-crypto hedge fund manager Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary.

While Bitcoin was last down around 1% in the past 24 hours, per CoinMarketCap, Ethereum (ETH) was up over 4% over the same time period.

Most other major altcoins, except for maybe Solana (SOL), BNB (BNB), Tron (TRX) and Dogecoin (DOGE) were also trading with strong gains.
