Ethereum infra company Blockspace launches with ETH-native business model and capped staking footprint

Ethereum infrastructure company Blockspace has launched, positioning itself as a for-profit, ETH-native operator focused on out-of-protocol infrastructure across Ethereum's transaction pipeline. The company grew out of the open-source Blockspace Forum initiative created last year by multiple Ethereum teams.
Blockspace said its recent funding round was led by BlueYard, with participation from ether.fi Ventures, Quasar Builder, Sharplink, Breed VC, Luganodes, Stakely and other Ethereum-aligned teams and individuals. Gattaca and ultra sound are credited as having laid the foundations for the new commercial entity, which is now run by a full-time team that has spent years building open-source software for Ethereum.
The firm defines itself as an "Ethereum Infrastructure Company" that will research, spec, build, ship and coordinate to help deliver Ethereum's core product: blockspace. It is targeting gaps it sees in the economics, robustness, performance and services of Ethereum's out-of-protocol infra, a layer that currently intermediates more than 90% of Ethereum blockspace.
Blockspace's monetization is entirely in ETH and relies directly on Ethereum activity. The company runs and supports Ethereum infrastructure, including staking, earning ETH from transaction fees in the blocks proposed by its staked validators, then restaking those rewards to compound its position.
To address centralization concerns associated with large staking entities, Blockspace says it will self-cap its ETH holdings at 15% of total network stake, aligning with a threshold that has been discussed in the community as a responsible upper bound. The firm frames its model as one where "Ethereum wins, we win," tying its commercial success to growth in Ethereum blockspace usage, demand and economic relevance.
The Blockspace Forum will continue as an independent, not-for-profit open-source coordination effort for teams working across Ethereum's transaction pipeline. Blockspace will contribute a dedicated commercial team, resources and operating capacity alongside other Forum contributors, with a focus on accelerating Ethereum's out-of-protocol infra ahead of changes such as ePBS.
