Indian Firm Jetking to Raise Funds for Bitcoin Investment

Indian tech company Jetking Infortrain Limited is making waves with its bold move into Bitcoin (BTC). As the first publicly traded Indian company to add Bitcoin to its treasury, Jetking is moving forward with interest in the king coin. Recently, the company’s board approved a “Strategic Fund Raise.” Through this, it intends to acquire more Bitcoin. This decision isn’t just a big deal for India, but it marks a notable moment for the broader Asian market.

Jetking To Expand Bitcoin Treasury Operations

Jetking CFO Siddarth Bharwani tweeted and brought out the company’s recent action. He pointed out that the company is focusing on expanding its Bitcoin treasury business. The company is going to mobilize funds for scalability and sustainable growth in order to accomplish this. The funds will be mobilized through the issue of equity shares to the Promoter Group and Identified Non-Promoters under the Companies Act, 2013, and the SEBI (ICDR) Regulations, 2018.

The money will be utilized for particular purposes. This involves buying virtual digital assets, day-to-day business requirements, and education, training, and skill acquisition in Bitcoin. Finally, looking deeper into the issuance aspect, Bharwani disclosed, that Jetking is issuing 4,28,622 equity shares at a price of ₹154 per share. This comes with a ₹10 face value and a ₹144 premium, resulting in a total issue size of ₹6.6 crore.

Jetking has been in the Indian IT scene for nearly 77 years now. On December 9, 2024, the firm bought a total of 12 Bitcoin which was worth about $1.2 million. Jetking’s recent action has surely brought the company into the limelight. Some were found drawing parallels between the company and Michael Saylor’s Strategy.

Amidst this, Bitcoin was trading at $84,913.17 with a daily price change of a positive 0.95%.
