Ripple CEO Predicts Crypto ETFs Will Boom, Cites Institutional Shift

  • The insights of the CEO have triggered a wave of buzz over social media platforms such as X.
  • The point of view of the CEO highlights an evolutionary moment for institutional crypto adoption.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ripple, Garlinghouse, believes that Crypto ETFs are about to explode. He participated in the “Crypto in 1 minute” podcast of Ripple and talked about crypto-based exchange-traded funds ETFs.

As per Garlinghouse, there are two major reasons behind the increasing excitement around ETFs after it launched in January 2024. The first reason is attributed to institutional investors.

The institutional investors have struggled a lot to have direct access to crypto assets. Before the inception of ETFs, they were dependent on centralized exchanges, which restricted their capability of trading crypto efficiently.

Now, ETFs have crashed that obstacle, permitting Wall Street heavyweights and financial institutions to trade crypto easily. And, this is somehow a game changer. The second reason is that the crypto ETFs are institutionalizing the complete crypto industry.

He highlighted Bitcoin’s ETF as a historic example, as it was the fastest ETF ever to cross $1 billion in assets and swiftly surpassed the $10 billion mark, leaving all other ETFs behind. As per Garlinghouse’s speculation, BTC ETFs will ultimately rival gold ETFs.

The Increasing Buzz

The insights of the CEO have triggered a wave of buzz over social media platforms such as X. A lot of people commended his stance as the best one-minute crypto briefing around. Users also mentioned how institutional warming to crypto, mainly XRP’s increasing role in futures and ETFs, shows a wider shift.

Conversations also involved Bitcoin’s notorious volatility, the breakout potential of Solana, and the Kraken launch with 20x leverage of Pi token, as well as the latest stablecoin considerations amid regulatory volatility of JPMorgan.

After XRP crossed milestones and the crypto ETF market grows, the point of view of CEO highlights an evolutionary moment for institutional crypto adoption. As regulatory barriers such as SEC delays are in place, XRP’s bounce-back, combined with increasing traction in the Bitcoin and Solana markets, paints an interesting picture.
