BitMEX experienced an unusual activity that caused a brief fall in Bitcoin prices. Users reported the activity in BitMEX’s BTC/Tether spot market in X. An unknown entity had sold over 400 BTC quickly. BitMEX confirmed the transaction and began investigating shortly after that. However, BitMEX assured that the derivatives markets and XBT derivative prices were unaffected. BitMEX had reportedly disabled withdrawals from some accounts during the investigation process, and it was also clarified that this has only affected a few accounts and not all users. BitMEX also confirmed that all the funds were safe and operating normally.
