Cypherpunk Expands Zcash Strategy With $33 Million Mining Push

Nasdaq-listed Cypherpunk Technologies launched a Zcash mining operation with about 4.2 GSol/s across U.S. facilities, representing roughly 18% of Zcash network hashrate, backed by a $33.33 million equipment investment from Winklevoss Capital and led by mining veteran Kevin Zhang. The move aims to boost the company treasury and operational cash flow, adding to its 323,394 ZEC (about 1.92% of circulating supply) with a target to accumulate 5% of total Zcash supply, which could influence ZEC supply dynamics, funding for privacy tech, and broader crypto adoption.
