Adidas partners with Doodles for virtual swag packs

Adidas has partnered with Doodles, an Ethereum-based NFT project, to roll out some virtual swag packs that come with exclusive Adidas gears. These limited-edition packs are up for grabs until August 16.

Each pack comes with two items, and depending on how deep your pockets are, you can snag a single pack for $4.99 or drop up to $374.99 if you’re looking to bulk up with a hundred of them.

Inside, Adidas said you might find some co-branded kits, including physical items featuring Deysi, the digital mascot from Pharrell Williams and Coi Leray’s song, “Not in the Store.” But there are only 200 of those Deysi Tracksuits and Superstar Shoes out there.

Adidas has been busy with NFTs

Earlier this year, Adidas teamed up with Stepn, the move-to-earn fitness app, to launch a line of virtual running shoes called Stepn x Adidas Genesis Sneakers.

These weren’t just any shoes—they were 1,000 NFTs based on some of Adidas’s iconic running designs. Each pair was priced around $2,500 or 10,000 GMT, Stepn’s native token.

The catch? You could earn rewards in both the digital and physical worlds by wearing these virtual sneakers while getting your steps in. Stepn’s CEO, Shiti Manghani, called it a “phygital” experience, where the lines between the virtual and physical blur.

Adidas also hooked up with Web3 artist FEWOCiOUS to drop a limited-edition collection that combined physical and digital worlds.

This partnership included the Trefoil Flower Mint Pass, which let NFT holders claim a pair of artist-designed Campus 00 sneakers.

What made this drop different was the use of NFC technology, directly linking the NFT to the physical sneakers.

Adidas has launched various initiatives, including partnerships with big names like Coinbase, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and even Bugatti. They’ve also used Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP) tokens through their CONFIRMED app to reward loyal users.
