Ripple has partnered with payments fintech Onafriq to expand remittance capabilities across Africa and with Gulf nations, the UK, and Australia. The partnership aims to open three blockchain-based payment corridors between Onafriq users in Africa and customers of PayAngel in the UK, Pyypl in the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Zazi Transfer in Australia, covering 90% of FX markets. Ripple has become a symbol of resistance against “heavy-handed and reactionary” US regulation and has been licensed as a money transmitter in the US and institutional payments provider in Singapore, with recent UK and EU filings.
