New Add-Ons Enhance Microsoft Flight Simulator Experience

In the ever-expanding world of Microsoft Flight Simulator, third-party developers continue to contribute to the simulation’s rich ecosystem. Venom Zero Productions, a prominent name among these developers, has recently released an F-5 Tiger II add-on, offering enthusiasts a fresh take on this iconic aircraft. This release is distinct from the rendition being developed by SC Design, coming from an entirely different team.

The developer has made it clear that their creation is primarily designed for entertainment purposes and does not aim for study-level simulation. Nonetheless, it boasts several notable features that enhance the overall experience. These features include an outstanding external model adorned with true-to-life liveries representing real-world operators.

Nine liveries are included, encompassing the US Navy VFC-111 Sundowners, US Navy VFC-13 Saints (in both Desert Camo and All Black), a fictional MiG-28 from the “TOP GUN” movie, Swiss Air Force skins (2), the Hellenic Air Force, the USAF 58th Tactical Fighter Squadron, and the Iranian Air Force.

The F-5 Tiger II add-on also offers a custom-built cockpit, albeit with limited switch interaction. External fuel tanks and weapons, including the AiM-9, MK-82, and GBU-12, can be managed through the aircraft’s Payload and Fuel system. A Martin Baker ejection seat, basic autopilot, and external lighting to match the real aircraft further enrich the experience.

Interior cockpit gauges are backlit, and users have the ability to switch between the Gun Reticle and the Asobo HUD. The aircraft also features fully animated exterior control surfaces, animated gauges, throttles, stick, rudder pedals, and a simulated radar scan (for scanning purposes only, as it does not pick up targets).

Prealsoft’s Amsterdam landmark add-on

In tandem with the ever-growing list of aircraft, scenery, and add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Prealsoft has released a landmark add-on that focuses on the iconic city of Amsterdam. This release coincides with the recent launch of the Amsterdam airport by FlyTampa, creating a well-rounded and immersive experience for virtual pilots. The Amsterdam landmark add-on by Prealsoft can be acquired on Simmarket for $14.13.

Key features of this add-on include the addition of main city landmarks and high-rise buildings, night textures with enhanced lighting effects, and PBR (Physically Based Rendering) for a more realistic visual experience. Various miscellaneous objects have been added to further enrich the cityscape. Importantly, this landmark add-on is fully compatible with other Amsterdam airport add-ons and photogrammetry, ensuring a seamless integration of all components.

Enhancing the Flight Simulator experience

With the release of the F-5 Tiger II by Venom Zero Productions and the Amsterdam landmark add-on by Prealsoft, Microsoft Flight Simulator enthusiasts have even more options to enhance their virtual flying experiences. These third-party add-ons bring new dimensions to the simulation, whether it’s the thrill of flying a classic military aircraft or the delight of exploring a highly detailed virtual city.
