BNB Skyrockets Past $1,330 as CZ’s YZi Labs Launches $1B Ecosystem Fund
  • BNB hit a new all-time high above $1,330 after YZi Labs launched a $1B builder fund to boost the BNB Chain ecosystem.
  • Network upgrades slashed block times to 0.75 seconds and cut fees to $0.46, driving record activity and over 73M active addresses.
  • BNB’s market cap surged to $183B, making it the third-largest crypto as institutional and retail interest soared.

BNB is on fire again. The token just hit a fresh all-time high above $1,330 on October 7, racking up 27% gains in just one week. The surge came right after CZ’s YZi Labs revealed a massive $1 billion builder fund aimed at supercharging development across the BNB Chain. From DeFi to AI and payments, the fund’s designed to pour fuel on the network’s already rapid expansion.

BNB’s rise has been nothing short of wild. Its market cap jumped from $140 billion to over $183 billion in just a few days, making it the third-largest crypto in the world—leapfrogging both Tether and XRP. The announcement couldn’t have come at a better time, riding on top of a wave of optimism after months of consistent upgrades and record-breaking on-chain stats.

YZi Labs $1B Fund Sparks Builder Frenzy

YZi Labs, now managing more than $10 billion globally, said the fund will back long-term projects developing on BNB Chain—covering DeFi, real-world assets, AI, and other Web3 verticals. The idea is simple: attract builders, reward innovation, and keep the BNB ecosystem thriving. The fund includes direct investments, incubation, and partnerships, along with the next phase of its Most Valuable Builder accelerator.

Starting October 2025, that accelerator will move under YZi Labs’ EASY Residency program, where selected teams can receive up to $500,000 each, plus direct collaboration with core BNB developers. With BNB Chain now serving over 460 million users and processing more than 26 million transactions daily, the timing for this expansion couldn’t be better.

BNB Chain Upgrades Push Network Performance Higher

BNB Chain’s speed and cost efficiency are now setting industry benchmarks. The Maxwell Hardfork earlier this year cut block times to just 0.75 seconds while slashing gas fees to 0.05 Gwei. A newer upgrade, which went live this week, doubled the gas limit from 47 million to 100 million per second, paving the way for higher throughput and larger transaction loads.vv

FloRight now, the average transaction fee sits around $0.46—cheap enough to keep developers and traders glued to the network. Total value locked (TVL) has climbed to $9.26 billion, and active addresses spiked past 73 million last month—the highest in BNB Chain history. That’s a pretty clear sign the chain’s growth isn’t just hype; it’s functional adoption.

Sentiment and On-Chain Buzz

BNB’s mindshare—the amount of market attention it gets—has exploded 251% this week to 5.09%, according to Messari. Analyst Rachael Lucas from BTC Markets said this reflects a clear shift toward fast, low-cost ecosystems. She also pointed out that institutional confidence is growing, citing CEA Industries’ recent treasury allocation to BNB as a strong vote of trust.

Retail traders are just as active. Memecoin trading on BNB Chain has gone wild over the past week, with small-cap tokens seeing massive swings and profits. At the same time, decentralized exchanges on the chain have processed over $6 billion in volume, generating roughly $5.57 million in fees, according to Lookonchain data. That places BNB Chain firmly at the top in both DEX activity and daily transaction counts.

With momentum building, YZi Labs’ $1B builder fund could mark the start of another growth phase for the BNB ecosystem. Between the upgrades, adoption, and capital infusion, it’s no wonder analysts are calling BNB the most powerful altcoin of 2025 so far.
