Aug. 9 marked the unfortunate passing of the well-known 14-year-old figure, Lil Tay, along with her brother. The news of their demise was initially shared on her official Instagram account and swiftly gained widespread attention. Nevertheless, the social media post was subsequently removed. The post conveyed the following message:

“It is with heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. This outcome was entirely unexpected and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.”

However, in a span of 24 hours, the internet personality released an official statement to provide clarification that her account had been intruded upon by an external party without her consent. Her well-being was further assured. Moreover, the situation took on a more dubious tone as her father, Christopher Hope, refrained from confirming or denying the state of Lil Tay’s existence.

In the midst of the “death hoax” surrounding her, a cryptocurrency named after her was introduced on the BNB Smart chain. A total of 100 coins were released into circulation. Up until now, no individual has taken responsibility for the coin. However, Harry Tsang, Lil Tay’s former manager, went as far as revealing that he had initiated the development of this digital token as early as April. As this token surfaced and garnered fame, Tsang took to Twitter and put things into perspective.

He additionally declared that he had removed a website that was promoting the tokens associated with the controversial content creator.

Is Lil Tay’s brother behind this mess?

Tsang expressed his belief that the situation might be an intricately constructed scheme orchestrated by Lil Tay’s brother, Jason Tian. Tian previously faced allegations of coaching Tay in the creation of some of the provocative videos that gained her recognition in 2018, when she was only 9 years old. Tsang said,

“I believe the reported hacking incident may not have occurred. The actions of Liltay’s brother, renowned for his propensity for extreme measures, lead me to hypothesize an alternative motive behind this occurrence.”

Several people across Twitter rushed in to comment about the latest updates. A lot of her tweets were directed at her family, particularly her brother.

A few others went on to even question the motive behind its release at this time.
