About Altcoin Season Index
What is the altcoin season index?
Altcoin season occurs when the majority of top-performing cryptocurrencies (over 90 days) are altcoins instead of Bitcoin. The Altcoin Season Index reflects this, with a higher score when altcoins outperform Bitcoin and a lower score when Bitcoin dominates. Stablecoins like Tether and DAI, as well as asset-backed tokens (e.g., WBTC, stETH, cLINK), are excluded.
If 75% of the top 100 coins outperform Bitcoin in the last 90 days, it's Altcoin Season.
How can I use the altcoin season index?
The Altcoin Season Index assists traders and investors in several ways:

If only 25% or fewer outperform Bitcoin, it’s Bitcoin Season.This calculated value is scaled from 1 to 100 and refreshed on a daily basis.
