Key Insights:

  • Bitcoin news showed that mine supply has passed 20.07 million coins, leaving about 4.4% of the 21 million maximum.
  • CZ estimates 10% to 20% of existing Bitcoin may be lost, stuck, or unrecoverable, reducing the usable supply.
  • The price of Bitcoin is around $63,000, with $58,000 to $67,000 seen as the key August range.

Bitcoin news is drawing fresh attention after more than 20.07 million BTC were mined, leaving only 4.4% of the fixed 21 million supply. CZ says some existing coins may be lost or stuck, while many long-term holders do not move their BTC, raising fresh questions about the supply available to buyers.

However, the Bitcoin price targets outlined in this article are derived from technical analysis and may not accurately reflect future market movements. Cryptocurrency prices can be highly volatile and unpredictable.

Bitcoin News: Mined Coins Pass 20.07 Million

Bitcoin news is back in focus as Bitcoin mine figures show more than 20.07 million coins had been mined by August 2026. About 4.4% of the total supply remains, based on the 21 million coin limit.

The latest figure has renewed debate over how much Bitcoin is available to buyers. CZ said he estimates that 10% to 20% of existing Bitcoin could be lost, stuck, or otherwise unrecoverable. That would leave fewer coins available in the market than the headline supply figure suggests.

A reply to CZ made a similar point, saying usable supply may matter more than the 21 million maximum. CZ agreed that many long-term holders do not move or spend their coins, meaning those holdings are not easily available to someone trying to buy them.

Coins that have not moved for a long time, along with coins that may never be recovered, can reduce the amount available in the market at any given time.

Price Of Bitcoin Faces Key Levels

At the same time, the price of Bitcoin remains around $63,000, according to crypto market influencer Tanaka on X. Tanaka outlined three possible paths for the rest of August, with sideways movement as the main case.

Tanaka gave the sideways case a 50% chance and expects BTC to stay between $58,000 and $67,000, with most activity around $60,000 to $65,000. This comes as recent spot Bitcoin ETF flows have cooled.

Tanaka pointed to outflows of about $61 million on August 12 and $131 million on August 13, while August 14 was close to flat, which is also confirmed by the Farside Investors’ data.

The Federal Reserve is holding rates at 3.5% to 3.75%, while July inflation eased to 3.4% year over year. Tanaka said these conditions do not yet support a major move.

If BTC falls below the $58,000 to $60,000 area and records a clean daily close, the bear case comes into play. Tanaka sees $52,000 to $55,000 as the next area in that scenario, with ETF outflows, thin liquidity and high leverage among the main concerns.

A Break Above $67K Could Change The View

The bullish case is smaller for now, as shown in another Bitcoin news. Tanaka put it at 20% and said BTC would need to reclaim $65,000 before breaking through $67,000 to $68,000 with strong trading volume.

Stronger ETF inflows, lower dollar and bond yields, and a better economic backdrop could support that move. If those conditions appear, Tanaka is watching $70,000, $75,000, and possibly $80,000 or higher.

For the rest of 2026, the price of Bitcoin ranges from $55,000 to $75,000 for the base case, $80,000 to $100,000 or higher for the bullish case, and $40,000 to $52,000 for the bearish case.

The supply figures add another angle to the current Bitcoin discussion. More than 20.07 million coins have already been mined, while some existing holdings may never return to active circulation. Still, supply scarcity alone does not set the next price move.

For now, the focus remains on ETF flows, key price levels, and whether buyers can push BTC back above the resistance areas. The market view shared by Tanaka remains cautious, with sideways movement seen as the most likely path before direction emerges.
