Cardano founding entity and commercial arm EMURGO announced on July 9, 2026 that it has formally stepped down from its role in the Pentad and notified other members. EMURGO will lead the SecondFi recovery process, a governance and security-focused intervention intended to accelerate remediation and restore confidence across Cardano crypto, DeFi, DEX and CEX counterparties while supporting on-chain recovery and adoption.
