Aave announced on July 30 it will deprecate 50 low‑adoption asset reserves across its DeFi lending markets and wind down deployments on six blockchains, impacting $98.1 million in supply and $15.6 million in debt. Founder Stani Kulechov said the changes come with two new internal rulebooks to stop the protocol carrying unused assets, a governance and risk‑management update aimed at improving capital efficiency and protocol health in the crypto lending ecosystem.
