After moving to the city in 2020, Telsa CEO Elon Musk is reportedly planning to create a new university in Austin Texas. Indeed, Bloomberg reported that the X (formerly Twitter) CEO has set in motion plans for the university based on recent tax filings connected to his Teh Foundation charity.
The report notes that Musk has sent more than $2 billion to the Foundation in 2022 alone. Moreover, it states that he is set to begin with a STEM-focused primary and secondary school. Conversely, the university is seeding with a $100 million gift from Musk himself.

Specifically, reports have stated that Elon Musk is creating a new university in Austin Texas. Indeed, Bloomberg discussed the project that is set to be based in the city that Musk has called home since the pandemic first hit the United States in 2020.

The report states that Musk “intends ultimately to expand its operations to create a university dedicated to education at the highest levels,” the unearthed IRS applications read. Additionally, the filing highlighted some of the operational functions the school will employ.
Specifically, it states that “experienced faculty” will lead the way alongside “traditional curriculum.” Moreover, the university will use things like “simulations, case studies, fabrication/design projects and labs,” in its methodology. Conversely, the report notes that the application was filed in October of 2022, and was then approved in March. Musk is currently seeking accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on colleges.”
