PayPal has confirmed it’s bringing mobile contactless payments to physical retail stores across Germany this summer, marking its first major push into the country’s in-store payment scene. German shoppers will soon be able to use the PayPal app on their smartphones to pay at any merchant that accepts Mastercard contactless payments.

The move is part of PayPal’s broader effort to blend its digital payment tools with Germany’s physical retail landscape. The company says the updated mobile wallet feature will roll out nationwide in the coming weeks on both iOS and Android devices.
